The Blessed Waters (Is Aven Stras) is an infamous tavern in Red London.

Overview[]

The tavern has a terrible reputation[1] because it is frequented by unsavory people. When an Essen Tasch takes place, people can place bets at the Blessed Waters.

One of the drinks the Blessed Waters offers is called Black Sally. It is a dense, syrupy, and strong drink which, according to Kell Maresh, is "vile."[2]

Structure[]

The Blessed Waters dimly-lit place full of dark corners because the hearths burn low. Multiple tables and booths are chaotically arranged throughout the tavern, and the air is filled with smoke, laughter, and drunken threats.

There is a front and a back door; both entrances are freely accessible to patrons.[2]

History[]

In early 1820, Rhy and Kell Maresh head to the Blessed Waters because Rhy wants to bet for Kamerov Loste in the upcoming Essen Tasch. While they head to a booth, Kell spots Kisimyr Vasrin in the crowd, and they quietly greet each other. Later, after Rhy goes to get more drinks, Kell is approached by Asana, someone from Kisimyr's entourage who was sent to deliver a message, a kiss, to him. They make out in the booth when Kell feels that Rhy is in trouble.

Kell searches for his brother and finds him behind the tavern, fighting three men they overheard earlier talking badly about the crown prince and his lack of magic. Kell attacks the men and five others that join them in the alley. In his anger, he loses himself and nearly kills the men, but is stopped on time by Rhy. The men then run away, and Kell and Rhy head home.[2]
