Losen is a young, wiry man with dark skin. He wears gold earrings that run "the length of both ears" to match Kisimyr.[1]

Losen enters the Essen Tasch of 1820, alongside his teacher Kisimyr. Two nights before the start of the games, he and Kisimyr meet and mingle with the other competitors and their entourages at the Setting Sun.[1]
