Biography[]
A Darker Shade of Magic[]
In October 1819, Mathieu watches a fire mage doing tricks at the Night Market with his mother and various others. When the street mage conjures a dragon of fire, Mathieu stumbles back in surprise and nearly falls down, but Kell Maresh catches him on time. Recognizing the Antari prince, Mathieu stares at him and then goes to hide behind his mother when she comes to apologize for her son. Afterward, Kell wishes them a good night and leaves.[1]
