Relationships
Tabbers are only used if the character has a lot of notable relationships. If Tabbers are needed, please adhere to the following format:
Small, noteworthy, briefly mentioned details of the character that does not fit anywhere else.
A not really well-known fact, something you can easily overlook while casually reading the books.
"Bonus facts" provided by the author outside the novels and short stories.
The character name's etymology. (How the author came to the name; how in-universe, the character came to their name; the real-life meaning of the name.)
Please, refrain from writing something like "he/she/they is the [main/supporting character of...]" or "he/she/they appear(s) in..." as this is out-of-universe writing. For more information, please head to the Manual of Style.
Infobox
Writer either "Red," "White," "Grey," or perhaps even "Black" in the "London" line. A link to the London's respective site and a small image will be automatically added. This only works if the line is filled with just one answer. Therefore, only the character's London of origin/birth London is to be added. Do not put any references here as well.
Write either "Female," "Male," or "Fluid" in the "Gender" line. (This shall be expanded if (a) character(s) appears with a different gender/is confirmed to belong to a different gender.) A link to the category page with all the other characters with the same gender and a small image will be automatically added. This only works if the line is filled with just one answer. Therefore, do not put any references in that line. The reference confirming a character's gender shall be added to the Trivia/General section instead.
Adding information (especially for the "Biography" section)
The information added to character articles...
...should be as summarized and concise as possible. It should be an abbreviated synopsis or description rather than an overly long text block. However, it should not leave out any details which are necessary, relevant to the article. Detailed and overarching plot summaries should be placed under the Biography section of book articles.
...should only focus on the topic of the page. Thorough descriptions of related topics should be put to said topic's own page if it possesses one.
Tenses
With exception of the "Biography" section which always has to be written in the past tense, all other sections have to be in present tense as long as the character is not labelled as "deceased."
For the "Relationships" section: If at least one of the characters is labelled as "deceased," past tense is to be used.
Headings
November 2017: As the wiki is still in its beginning phase, book titles as headings are allowed. This will change later on.
References
Always give references to back the information. To simplify the process, use the following templates: {{adsom}} {{agos}} {{acol}} {{tsp}}
They are to be used in the following way:
{{adsom|chapter number in Latin numbers|segment number in Latin numbers}}
For example, {{adsom|I|I}} would result in A Darker Shade of Magic, I: The Traveler, I
If the information was retrieved from an official source related to the Shades of Magic series, e.g. V. E. Schwab's social media accounts or online newspapers, just use the link as reference.
Exceptions:
References are not needed in the "Relationships" section of the article.
References are not needed in the "Biography" section of the article. (subject to change like the headings rule for the "Biography" section)
